Wool Quilt Piece!

And now, I not-so-proudly present: the ugliest thing I have ever crocheted! Sigh.

I'm not the world's best crocheter at the best of times (you may notice I use the word "wonky" quite a lot when describing my crochet creations...), but this one really beats them all:

So why make it? Hmm. The women's organization of my church wanted to make a big quilty wall hanging thing with quilt pieces from every sister. We were asked to make a little quilt piece representing something we loved. I decided to crochet mine with the word "wool" ("wol" is the Dutch spelling of this word and not a typo...) and this is the monstrosity that I created... I have given it to the sisters who were going to put the quilt together, but I have a sneaking suspicion that I'm not the only one with a severely disappointing contribution, because the wall hanger quilt never got made... Thank heaven for small favors! Hallelujah!

Let this be a lesson to you all, or perhaps a bit of comfort: not everything we make will turn out perfect. And that is certainly the case for me!
